In this article, I will tell you about the dates and days that are announced by the Government of Pakistan on this occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to provide you the chance to celebrate your happiness with your loved ones.
The Government of Pakistan’s Cabinet Division has announced a five-day Eid-ul-Fitr holiday package for all Government employees. The Prime Minister’s Office issued an official notification on April 13, 2023, after approval from Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Shareef. The holidays will allow employees to spend time with their families during Eid-ul-Fitr 2023. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also announced six holidays for its employees.

How is Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrated?
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy by Muslims all over the world. On the day of Eid, Muslims wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear new clothes. They then attend special Eid prayers at mosques or designated prayer grounds. After the prayers, people hug and greet each other with the traditional greeting “Eid Mubarak” which means “Blessed Eid”.
Families and friends come together to celebrate Eid by sharing delicious food and sweets. Many people also give gifts to each other as a sign of love and gratitude. It is a time to be grateful for the blessings of life and to cherish the bonds of family and community.
Significance of Eid-ul-Fitr
Eid-ul-Fitr is an Islamic festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset and engage in acts of charity and worship. Eid-ul-Fitr is a celebration of the accomplishments of the past month, as well as a time for forgiveness, unity, and gratitude.
Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays Schedule
The Prime Minister of Pakistan has approved the Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 holidays for government employees, which will be from April 21st to April 25th. This means that government employees will have a 5-day break to celebrate the festival.
Federal Notification
On 13th April 2023, the Prime Minister declared public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr from 21st to 25th April 2023 (Friday to Tuesday) for Federal Government employees in Pakistan. The Cabinet Division issued circular No. 10-02/2022-Min-II dated 23rd December 2022, and the notification continues it. The Government of Pakistan has requested that they publish the above press release in all major English and Urdu dailies at national and regional levels and also give it wide publicity through electronic media.
In Punjab
On 14th April 2023, the Punjab Services and General Administration Department issued a notification regarding the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in Punjab. According to the notification, the government has declared public holidays in Punjab from 21st to 25th April 2023 (Friday to Tuesday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. On 13.04.2023, the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Pakistan issued a Press Release stating that all major English and Urdu dailies should publish the notification and electronic media should give it wide publicity at both national and regional levels.
In KPK
The Administration Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued a notification on 14th April 2023, announcing Eid Holidays in KPK for 2023. The notification declares that the Holy Festival of Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 (1444 A.H) public holidays will be observed from 21st to 26th April 2023 (Friday to Wednesday). It directs the dissemination of this information through print and electronic media, as well as in major English and Urdu newspapers at the national and regional levels.
